A year at our school
Class 7 - Podcast
As part of the NSW Department of Education’s T4L initiative, Class 7 used a podcasting kit to share their learning about Australia’s national flower, the golden wattle. Students researched, scripted, and recorded their podcast, which was proudly presented at Senior Assembly.
Class 4 - Robotics
Class 4 have been exploring problem solving and position in Maths using Sphero Indi robots from the Department’s StemT4L Library. They discovered how different coloured tiles control the robots’ movements and will next try navigating them through a maze.
Book Week Bus Trip
The theme for Book Week was ‘Book an Adventure’, celebrating 80 years of Children’s Book Week. Primary classes read “We Live in a Bus” by Dave Petzold and took a 30-minute bus ride around Lismore on the Wilson Park School Bus to connect learning with a fun local experience. Classes 4 & 5 enjoyed the trip!
Rous Water Education
Secondary students recently explored waterway health in their Agriculture and Living Things units. Alex Dowling from Rous Water visited with the Rous Catchment trailer, providing hands-on learning about water sources and pollution impacts. Students gained a deeper understanding through this engaging experience.
Basketball Gala Day
Wilson Park School hosted a basketball gala day with Lismore Primary schools on 6 August. Our team showed great skills and sportsmanship.
